چکیده
A dynamically optically inactive 3(10)-helical peptide possessing metal chelating ability between the side-chains at the i and i + 3th residues was synthesized, and its metal complexes were shown to stabilize the peptide structure and the helical sense.

متن کاملSupramolecular Chirality: Solvent Chirality Transfer in Molecular Chemistry and Polymer Chemistry
Controlled mirror symmetry breaking arising from chemical and physical origin is currently one of the hottest issues in the field of supramolecular chirality. The dynamic twisting abilities of solvent molecules are often ignored and unknown, although the targeted molecules and polymers in a fluid solution are surrounded by solvent molecules. We should pay more attention to the facts that mostly...
متن کاملHelical polymer brushes with a preferred-handed helix-sense triggered by a terminal optically active group in the pendant.
Helical polymer brushes with a preferred-handed helix-sense composed of a poly(phenylacetylene) backbone and poly(phenyl isocyanate) pendants are synthesized. The helix-sense of the backbone is effectively controlled by the helical chirality of the pendants, which is triggered by an optically active group introduced at the pendant terminal.
متن کاملHelical Diastereomerism in Self-organization of Molecular Strands
The polyheterocyclic molecule 2 reported in this paper is a helically-wrapped molecular strand presenting two helical substrands of same helicity separated in space thus forming P-P and M-M helical enantiomers. It represents the case of a molecule presenting two chiral centers of helical type. The dimerization process of the compound described in this paper appears to give rise to heterodimeric...
متن کاملTowards understanding secondary structure transitions: phosphorylation and metal coordination in model peptides.
Secondary structure transitions are important modulators of signal transduction and protein aggregation. Phosphorylation is a well known post-translational modification capable of dramatic alteration of protein secondary structure. Additionally, phosphorylated residues can induce structural changes through metal binding. Data derived from the Protein Data Bank demonstrate that magnesium and man...
